In China’s challenging business environment, managers need time to reflect
on who they are, what they are doing and where they are heading. The
difficulties of leadership are even more difficult for the expatriate
manager. Here is that opportunity to step back, reflect and recharge!
Over the
past decade, Professional Way has developed a number of China-specific
leadership workshops. The Transformational Leadership PLUS Workshop
Series is the final product of many years of testing ideas and theories and
seeing how they work in the Chinese environment. We have run pilot
programs and workshops with similar content with a number of Fortune 500
companies including Roche, McDonalds, Danone, Mitsubishi, IDEX, SEB Group,
Siemens and Pepsi.
The
Transformational Leadership PLUS workshop series helps leaders and potential
leaders at a more senior level reflect on their current environment, heighten
self awareness and acquire new skills.
Workshop
Design
Transformational
Leadership is designed as a series of two three-day workshops taking place in
September and December 2009. Key features of the workshop series include:
Multiple psychometric assessments
including the Leadership Development Profile (LDP) made famous in the Harvard
Business Review.
Small Group Leadership
Opportunities to practice and develop your skills
Competency based training built
around the classic “4E+1P” system
Experiential based learning using
activities, role plays and case studies
A mid-term coaching session in
small peer-to-peer learning groups
Prior to
each module, participants will complete one or more psychometric or soft skills
assessments. We will debrief the results of these tests and use them to
help design post-program action plans. Between workshops we will hold a
small group, one-half day coaching session.
Target
Audience
We designed
Transformational Leadership PLUS for senior and mid-level expatriates who are
often overlooked in human resource development plans, focusing on
localization. A primary focus of the workshop series is to assist
managers in a cross cultural environment. Thus, senior Chinese managers
less at home in the international business environment will also benefit from
the workshop series.
Key
Features
The
program uses a series of assessments and experiential learning techniques as a
methodology to enhance learning points and to lead to lasting and insightful
experiences. Debriefs are an essential feature in the program and follow
each activity as a final and completing part of the learning process.
Participants
will become stronger leaders by:
Heightening personal self
awareness,
Enhancing interpersonal leadership
skills,
Developing skills in motivating
and inspiring followers,
Leading small teams more
effectively,
Guiding followers with vision, and
Moving from a transactional style
to a transformational leadership style
